Paston Netball Girls Cook Up A Winner Against Springwood It was a cold and blustery afternoon when the newly formed Paston netball team took on the Western Devils of Springwood 6th Form, Kings Lynn.

The girls had been kept waiting due to the inevitable issues of travelling across country in this fine rural county. Despite all the anticipation combined with stiffening limbs and numbed fingers the Paston girls began with admirable spirit.

Ellie Wait had done an admirable job of whipping them up into a frenzy and this tenacity proved extremely effective as Paston took an early lead. Amy ‘the dynamo’ Hewitt with nimble feet and quickness of thought made the middle of the court her own. Luella Cossey and Maddi King displayed admirable attacking skills and Allysa Remoroza was a force to be reckoned with down the left flank. The ball was moved like a hot potato allowing Erin Irwin plenty of scoring opportunities. She shoots, she scores – Erin took that hot potato and placed it with aplomb in the top oven on every shooting occasion.

It proved tight towards the end, but with Paston positivity and Amber Howard refusing to accept second best the girls proved victorious. 16-15 – that will do nicely!

Well done to all the girls for a magnificent display on a day when most sensible people were tucked up inside!
