Why Choose Paston College
Well here are some very good reasons why you should consider this specialist sixth form college ...
Specialist :
We work exclusively with students aged 16-19 – Year 12 and 13. Paston staff are all specialists in their subjects and in teaching courses at this level. This explains the excellent examination results. We have specialist tutors – even a full time mentor who advises students on university options – and specialist facilities.
Success:
We have excellent results and a very good Ofsted Inspection Report (April 2008). 180 students won places to study at 60+ universities.
Size is right:
We have around 700 full-time students aged 16-19 so we’re big enough to meet your needs but small enough to offer the personal touch. We are neither a small sixth form nor a giant college.
Choice:
We have lots of courses to choose from: AS, A levels - including the “Applied AS and A Levels” - BTEC National Diplomas and First Diplomas,GCSEs and NVQs are all available. We are also big enough to give you courses in the combinations you want, so you really do have lots of choice.
Enrichment:
We offer you more than examination courses – a full programme of sport, creative writing, film making, fashion show, Far East Theatre, Paston’s Volunteer Programme plus the opportunity to take part in trips and visits.
Facilities:
The College has a 180 seat Theatre, dance/performance studio, science, IT and media laboratories and art, photography, music and recording studios. Sports facilities include our playing field, gym and fitness room, and our students enjoy discounts at the nearby Victory Swim and Fitness Centre (built on Paston land).
The library is a great place to learn. All College PCs are networked with internet/email access and the College Moodle can be used in College and at home.
Location and transport:
Students enjoy quick and easy access by bus and train. North Walsham station is 5 minutes walk away from the College. Hourly services take only half an hour journey time to Norwich or Sheringham. College buses bring students from towns and villages across North Norfolk, Broadland, Norwich and beyond.
