Far East Goes Greek

29 students from Paston Sixth Form College are presenting Steven Berkoff's adaptation of 'The Trial' by Franz Kafka. The students are all part of the College's nationally acclaimed Far East Theatre Company. The hour long production explores the themes of Big Brother, surveillance and the individual's struggle for justice. The play's director. Simon Thompson, who teaches Media and Drama at the College, explains how the style of the production evolved,

We are taking many of Steven Berkoff's physical theatre techniques and ideas and creating a Greek Chorus involving 15 students who are permanently on stage commenting on the action'
Mr. Thompson added,
The production promises to be visually exciting with a combination of drama and moving image.'

The Trial is being performed at the Paston Theatre, at Paston Sixth Form College, on Tuesday 7th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th February at 7.30pm,with a matinee on Wed 8th at 1.00pm.Tickets are £5.00 and £3 (concessions) and are available from Paston Sixth Form College on 01692 402334.
