What will I learn on the course?

• Assess your personal fitness levels and those of others
• Learn how to design a training programme
• Lead a variety of sporting activities in college and at local schools
• Investigate the effects of exercise on your body
• Learn about various injuries and possible treatments
• Take part in a range of individual and team sports

 

Where does the course lead?

A higher qualification e.g. BTEC Extended Diploma

• Work in a Leisure Centre
• Armed services
• Work as an instructor in a fitness centre
• Become a Lifeguard
• Take further qualifications to become a Personal Trainer

 

Where are they now?

 

Ashley Moakes achieved a Distinction on his BTEC First Diploma. Now in his second year of the BTEC National Diploma and currently looking at University options.

Jamie Wade had an excellent year on this course and has now been accepted by the RAF. He is looking forward to his training.

Faith Carlton achieved a Distinction* in her BTEC First Diploma and has progressed to the BTEC National Diploma in Sport.

 

Entry requirements

A minimum of DDD at GCSE including English Language or Maths

or a Merit or Distinction on a related BTEC Introductory level 1 course
