Learner Support Fund

The Learner Support Fund is to help remove financial barriers to education. Most students on low incomes will be in receipt of EMA, so the primary purpose of the Learner Support Fund is to help people or cover costs that EMA does not. It is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Normally the LSF will offer a contribution towards your costs, not the full cost, though each case is looked at separately.

You will be eligible to apply to the Learner Support Fund if your parents are in receipt of a means-tested benefit. You can apply for help towards costs such as:

Disability related costs e.g. specialised items of equipment. Please make an appointment with Caroline Dimsdale, the Support Co-ordinator, who will discuss your needs.

Materials costs – books and equipment needed for your courses

College trips - including university interview travel costs

Re-sit exam fees - your first exam entry is normally free (except for adults)

For more information, please contact Student Services at Paston College.
