AS / A2 TEXTILES

Exam Board: EdExcel

If you love making textured surfaces or are interested in Fashion or Interior Design, then this course is for you. The course helps you to prepare for the next step in your creative future and many students go on to courses in Textiles and the Arts at university or Art school, often directly onto degree courses. In 2009 several A-level Textiles students went on to study a textile degree – this reflects the passion that is felt for this subject by students. Ofsted said “the proportion of students successfully progressing directly to arts-related higher education programmes is very good.’ The course is taught by a practising Textiles artist within a department that Ofsted described as nationally ‘outstanding’ in 2008.

“The course gives you the freedom to explore your own ideas as well as giving you the practical know how to make your designs come to life.” Esme Hopkins Studying Textiles at Westminster University 2009.

“Getting accepted onto the degree course at NUCA gave me a real boost. The help I received from my tutor in putting my portfolio together was brilliant. Seeing my work on the catwalk at The Paston Art Show has boosted my confidence even further.” Emily Allen Studying Surface Pattern at Norwich University of the Creative Ats 2009.
