Paston as a stepping stone

Many students see Paston as the first step to university. Our staff is expert in advising you about university, what courses are available and where, the grades you need and how to get them. Helping you to navigate through all the information about university and to plan your next step is an important part of our work as a specialist sixth form college – and we have specialist staff to help you. Paston has a full-time HE Mentor, a young graduate who will help you investigate universities and make your application, using her own recent experience and research.

Did you know that there are 116 universities in the UK as well as a further 50 specialist colleges, offering over 20,000 courses? There is also a great deal of misinformation around about student loans/fees and the benefits of becoming a graduate. We will help you make your decision on the basis of the facts.

In 2011 Paston students won places at over 70 UK universities including Oxbridge, the Russell Group and 1994 Group universities. The Class of 2010 also secured places at 70 universities, ranging across the UK from Norwich to Aberystwyth, Plymouth to St Andrews and Kent to Cumbria.

With 80% of our advanced level learners leaving to further their career prospects in Higher Education, Paston is very experienced in helping you.
