3 A level programme:

  • A minimum of BBCCC at GCSE (Please note: grade C may be replaced by new grade 4 and grade B by new grade 6). Please also see the individual requirements for each A level subject.
Please note: Vocational subjects cannot replace GCSEs for entry to an A level programme.  You must also study English/Maths GCSE if you have not already achieved grade 4 or old C grade in these subjects.

4 A level programme:

  • A minimum of 3A* + 5A grades at GCSE (or new grade equivalents of 8/9 as A*, 7 as A) plus English/English Language [not English Studies] and Maths at minimum grade C or new grade 4. You will have the option to study 4 A-Levels by joining the A Plus programme. Please also see the individual requirements for each A level subject listed below.
Please note: A Plus is designed for applicants to academic courses at Oxford, Cambridge or other Russell Group universities.  Grades in vocational subjects cannot replace GCSEs for entry to this programme.

Vocational programmes:

A minimum of 5 C grades (or new grade 4) at GCSE or Distinction/Merit in a relevant BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) plus 1 grade C (or new grade 4) at GCSE.  

You must also study English/Maths GCSE if you have not already achieved grade 4 or old C grade in these subjects.

Mixed programmes:

If you wish to mix A levels with vocational courses, you must meet the entry requirements for the bigger part of your programme:
  • 2 A levels plus a single award vocational course – A level programme entry requirements
  • Double award vocational plus 1 A level – vocational programme entry requirements, plus any subject specific requirement for the chosen A level

You must also study English/Maths GCSE if you have not already achieved grade 4 or old C grade in these subjects.

Level 2 programme:

Minimum of 3 C grades (or new grade 4) at GCSE.  This programme is design for those students who just miss our entry requirements for level 3 study.  It includes an opportunity to improve your GCSE English and Maths grades, alongside a Workskills course to develop the skills required for progression into employment or onto a level 3 programme.
