    4 A level programme:

  • If you achieve a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 8, plus 5 at grade 7 (and your English Language and Maths are at a minimum grade 4) you will have the option to join the A Plus programme. A Plus is designed for applicants to highly competitive academic courses at Oxford, Cambridge or other top Russell Group universities. You will have the opportunity to study for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) alongside your A Levels or in exceptional circumstances, you may choose to take a 4th A Level if this supports your career intentions. Top universities are advising a preference for 3 A Levels plus EPQ or a similar project.
  • Students wishing to take Further Maths can only take this as a 4th subject. It can be taken as a 1 year AS course, or extended to the full A Level over 2 years.

    Vocational programmes:

Minimum of 5 grade 4s at GCSE or Merit/Distinction in a relevant BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) plus 1 grade 4 at GCSE.

You must also study English Language and/or Maths GCSE if you have not already achieved grade 4 in these subjects.

    Mixed programmes:

If you wish to mix A levels with vocational courses, you must meet the entry requirements for the bigger part of your programme:

  • 2 A levels plus a single award vocational course – A level programme entry requirements.
  • Double award vocational/s plus 1 A level – vocational programme entry requirements, plus any subject specific requirement for the chosen A level.
  • You must also study English Language and/or Maths GCSE if you have not already achieved grade 4 or old C grade in these subjects.

    Level 2 programme:

Minimum of 3 grade 4s (or the old C grade) at GCSE.  This programme is design for those students who just miss our entry requirements for level 3 study.  It includes an opportunity to improve your GCSE English Language and Maths grades, alongside a Workskills course to develop the skills required for progression into employment or onto a level 3 programme.
