Who do you work for, and what projects have you been involved in?
PwC (Pricewaterhousecoopers), Internal and external audit of numerous public sector bodies and commercial businesses.

What is a typical day at work like?
A typical day at work involves travelling to a client site and having discussions with client staff and reviewing systems and documentation to identify exceptions to normal working practice.

What did you study at Paston? How did that course help you progress upon your career path?
Psychology A-level, BTEC National Award in Acting, German A-level, Maths AS level. I did a Psychology degree as a result of my enjoyment of studying it at Paston, I also did an outside option of German in the first year of my degree as I could use my A-level skills.

What are the important skills you have had to develop and hone to be successful in your job?
Communication skills are vital in my job as I have to constantly meet new client staff and understand their systems and processes. High quality writing and presentational skills are also required to document work sufficiently and neatly so that it can be easily reviewed and presented to clients in the form of reports. Team work is also vital to my job as we often work as part of an audit team for several months during NHS and Local Government busy seasons.

Did you ever envisage doing this while you were at Paston?

I had no idea what I was going to do after Paston besides going to university, so I certainly did not tailor my studies towards my career.

What did you do in the year immediately after graduating?
I completed a 7 stage interview process for my job at PwC during the summer I graduated and started my job immediately in September after graduating in July.
