We will look to get students involved with local businesses in and around North Walsham throughout the year to give students an insight as to how businesses work.
Students will be required to have 4 GCSES at grade 3/D. Students who have not achieved grades 4/C in GCSE English Language and/or GCSE maths will have to continue to study these qualifications alongside the main qualification.
Successfully complete a pre-interview task which will be discussed at interview.
The method of assessment is through both internal and external units. Internal assessments which includes a variety of assessment methods; including assignments, presentations, group work, reports and discussions. External Units are exams which are marked by BTEC. Students will need to achieve a Pass in all units both internal and external to achieve the full qualification. A grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction can be achieved on this course.
Progression can be to Level 3 BTEC Business, employment, an apprenticeship or another course. The expectation is that students wishing to progress to Level 3 Business will have met the 90% attendance target plus have demonstrated a good level of performance in terms of work progress, behaviour, also achieving a Merit overall for the Level 2 qualification.
The subject area of 'Business' can lead students into a wide variety of different occupations in a wide range of business environments. Having completed this course, the next step may be to continue their studies either in an apprenticeship or other subject areas.
