Pastonbury 2025: our students share five reasons to study at Paston College

14th July 2025

During the last week of term, our Year 13 students attended Pastonbury 2025, where they celebrated their hard work throughout their time at college. Our students and staff enjoyed a day of music, fun, and games, all while enjoying the sunshine!

Pastonbury was the perfect opportunity for our students to reflect on their time with us, and to share some of their favourite memories and experiences throughout their studies. They have certainly had a fantastic time at college, and as their time at Paston comes to an end, we couldn’t be happier to share with you their unique insights into what’s it’s like to study with us:

“I have particularly enjoyed the drama opportunities at Paston”

Attia Law, who studied A Level Maths, Drama, and English Literature, looked back on her time at Paston with a particular fondness for drama and the Far East Theatre Company. Attia further reflects on how Paston has helped her to realise her passions, adding:

Studying at Paston has allowed me to explore my interests, and has given me a clear idea of the subjects that I enjoy. I have also gained so much independence throughout my time here.”

"Paston offered me so many opportunities to pursue goals outside of the classroom”

Jacob Gould, who studied Computing Extended Diploma Level 3, has left Paston having had the chance to partake in a range of exciting opportunities that support his studies, and as a result has developed personally and academically. Jacob says:

During my time at Paston, I had the chance to partake in an internship in Portugal, a bootcamp with Aviva, a hackathon challenge, and to showcase my computing course at The Royal Norfolk Show. These opportunities have helped me to develop my interpersonal skills.”

"Throughout my time at Paston, the tutors have been really engaging and treat you like an adult.”

Imogen McVey, who studied A Level Drama, Criminology, and Law, thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and independence that Paston offers, and the support that tutors provided for her next steps. Imogen says:

I gained a great relationship with all my tutors, who I could always rely upon. Paston gave me the opportunity to experience a variety of fields of study, so that I could ensure university was the right path for me, and supported me with my application to university.”

"Any problem that I have had throughout my studies has been solved.”

Isabelle Brown, who studied T Level Education and Childcare (Early Years Educator), talked of the support that she has received throughout her studies and how this has helped her to feel excited about her next steps after college. She says:

Everyone is so lovely at Paston College, and any problem that I have had throughout my studies has been solved. My course has given me so much confidence for the future, and I have made so many friends throughout my time at Paston.”

"Paston has allowed me to grow and understand the parts of myself needed to succeed in the future.”

Tyrese Harli Hlongwane, who studied A Level Drama, English Literature, and Film Studies, reflected fondly on how his studies have helped him to grow personally. Tyrese adds:

Studying at Paston has really helped me to build connections in the performance industry, and I especially enjoyed the practical work involved in Drama and Film, and the group work in my English Literature lessons.”
