Experience our Sixth Form

Experience our spectacular sixth form setting

Paston College’s community of students enjoy learning in spectacular sixth form surroundings, rich in history and equipped to prepare them for the future.

Modern facilities, historic buildings and large open spaces combine to create an environment conducive to learning and socialising. We believe all young people deserve to be nurtured and supported in the best possible surroundings as they begin their journey into adult life.

We are large enough to provide the buzz of campus life yet small enough to ensure we know and care about each student as an individual.

We evolved into the college we are today from our first beginnings as a grammar school, founded in 1606. Those who have studied on this site include Admiral Nelson, actor and reality TV star Stephen Fry, BBC journalist Carole Walker, and Charlie Hall, a former chief constable of Hertfordshire.

Today’s students go on to achieve great things, taking full advantage of all that is offered by the modern world, from Oxford and Cambridge to careers including law, media and business.

Each step of the way, we go above and beyond for our students, including strong support services, preparation for Oxbridge applications, special needs expertise and enrichment activities which encourage people to grow as well as learn.

In a challenging world, we foster the values of curiosity, kindness and community.

Students tell us that they value the friendships they build, the small class sizes, the supportiveness of both our teachers and non-teaching staff, and the fact that they feel able to be truly themselves.

Our campus, on two sites, is right in the heart of North Walsham in North Norfolk where we have been an integral part of the community for more than four centuries.

We are proud to continue the legacy of William Paston, the founder of the original grammar school. The Paston Foundation, which he created, continues to this day, supporting us and fulfilling his wish that the site remains in educational use, a unique legacy to the people of Norfolk and beyond.

What began as a fee-paying school all those years ago is now free. A unique legacy to our modern world in which the talents of all people should be allowed to shine.
