GCSE results

If you’re waiting for GCSE results from Paston College we will be emailing you at your College email address from 8am on Thursday 20th August.  Please note that due to the volume of emails being sent, it may take a few hours to reach your account.

If you have not used your college email account for a while, it is advisable to log on as soon as possible just to make sure that you can still access it. If you experience any problems, please contact servicedesk@nes.org.uk

The email will also provide the latest guidance on resits and appeals.  Please read this information carefully and contact us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk if you wish to register for a resit or appeal.  We will then contact you further to discuss.

If you are receiving GCSE results from school and then coming to enrol at the College please remember that it’s important for you to upload your results to the Student Portal. Information including your individual link to your portal page, was emailed to you earlier this week: if you have any queries about this please contact admissions@ccn.ac.uk

Level 1 and 2 vocational qualifications

If you are waiting for Level 1 and 2 vocational qualification results we will be emailing you at your College email address from 8am on Thursday 20th August.

Students on Pearson BTEC Level 1 and 2 qualifications should note that we have been informed this evening (Wednesday 19 August) that your results will not be issued on August 20th.  The delay is to allow Pearson to review the grading system and ensure that the results are fair and comparable to other qualifications.

We will update you as soon as we are informed of when your qualifications will be available.  For those students progressing within City College Norwich we will ensure that this delay does not prevent you from progressing and enrolling onto a suitable course for the coming academic year.

If you are concerned about this delay in BTEC results please email us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk and we will contact you to provide support. You can read a statement from Pearson here.

A Levels – latest news on results

All Paston College A level students were emailed (to their College email account) on 18th August to provide them with their Centre Assessed Grades and an indication of the final grade we expect students to be awarded. This follows Ofqual and the Government announcing a change in the way A level grades were to awarded.

We expect to be able to provide final confirmation on the A level grades from the Exam Boards in the next couple of days.  This confirmation will also be sent to your College email account.

We are here to help if you need support in your next steps to university or further study – advisers and academic staff are available to help you. Please contact us via Live Chat on this website or on 01603 773 311.

There are a range of other options available to you if you have not received the grades that you needed to progress to your chosen next steps. We can help you decide which steps are right for you.

Resits

To register your interest in resitting a qualification, please email us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk providing us with details of the qualification(s) you wish to resit. Please do this as soon as is possible as we will need to discuss this option with you and some deadlines for registration for resits are in early September.

Appeals and Complaints

Ofqual have now updated their student guides which provide the key guidance on how the appeals and complaints procedures will operate. These guides confirm that there is no ability for you to appeal for a “remark” or to challenge the accuracy of the Centre Assessed Grade information we submitted to the Exam Board.

However if you believe that the College has been biased or has discriminated against you should contact the College via the qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk and we will discuss this matter with you.  Please do read the Ofqual guides for more information on these issues.

Level 3 vocational qualifications (BTEC, UAL, City and Guilds, NCFE etc.) – latest news on results

We have been informed on August 19th that Pearson are proposing to review the grading of BTEC qualifications as a result of the changes to the A level grading system.  We currently do not know when the grades will be reissued.  We are aware that this may cause considerable concerns to those of you that are using the grades issued on August 13th for progression to Higher Education or an Apprenticeship. Please email us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk if you wish us to support you with any matters relating to this change.

At this time, no other awarding organisations have informed us of potential changes to grades that were issued on August 13th.

We also know that a small number of students are still awaiting results from the Awarding Organisations and we are working around the clock to overcome these delays.

Appeals and Complaints

If you wish to consider an appeal, please email us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk

Resits

To register your interest in resitting a qualification, please email us at qualifications2020@ccn.ac.uk providing us with details of the qualification(s) you wish to resit.  We will then contact you to discuss further as L3 vocational qualifications resits may be through the coming academic year rather being concentrated in the Autumn.
