Students celebrate amazing A Level results

30th August 2018

Paston College students have been rewarded for their hard work this year, as they received their A Level results.

Our student maintained the 99.3% pass rate across all exams with 74.7% of students achieving A*- C A Level grades.

We are so proud of our students as they set off on the next step of their journeys. These results would not have been possible without the dedication of our teaching staff, who consistently go above and beyond for our students.

Helen Williams, Head of A Levels, was delighted with the results:

“We are incredibly proud of all the students’ achievements which will support them to make excellent progression to university and are celebrating the amazing achievement of the 19 students who attained A* or A grades in all of their A level subjects.”

Kieran Davis received A*A*A*A* grades and is off to the University of East Anglia to study Medicine;

“Opening my results was overwhelming and I was shocked. I knew that I had got in to university this morning through UCAS Track but I wasn’t expecting these results. My time at Paston was really good. It felts like you were older and it felt like you were in that in between step between school and university”

Cathy Sole achieved A*AA in her results and has been offered a theatre scholarship with the Dalhousie University in Canada;

“These results have secured my scholarship so I was really relieved when I opened them. I really enjoyed my time at Paston and the extra help I received to help me apply for the scholarship was great as I really couldn’t have gone for the scholarship without the people here helping me put together and send off audition tapes and all the application that were required. The 2 years have gone really quickly and it definitely feels worth it now!”

Victoria Ing achieved an AAB and is attending the University of Leeds to study Graphics;

"I felt so relieved when I opened my results! It was such a relief that all the hard work and effort that I had put in had paid off because I wanted to go to Leeds so badly – it’s really nice to have got in. I found doing A Levels really hard but I knew where I wanted to go so I’m glad it has got me there now. I’ve grown a lot in the 2 years that I’ve been at Paston and I think it has been a really good stepping stone for university.”

Gabriella Elia achieved AAB in her results, and is now off to Newcastle University to study English Literature and Creative Writing;

“I am so surprised – I wasn’t expecting the results I got at all! Study at Paston has been so good - I’ve had really good teachers who were really lovely and I’ve made lots of friends too”

We hope our students enjoy celebrating their results, and wish them the very best for their futures. For those students who may need advice or guidance on their next steps, our Advice Shop will be open every weekday from now until the start of the new academic year.
