What You Will Study
If you want to work with people and make a difference in their lives, Health and Social Care could be the perfect choice. This AAQ course explores how health and care services support individuals throughout their lives and helps you develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for university-level study and future careers in the sector.
You will learn about physical health, mental health, communication, anatomy and physiology, safeguarding, public health and person-centred care. Through real-life case studies and practical assignments, you will gain an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and how professionals support them to live healthy, independent and fulfilling lives.
This course forms part of our Health and Social Care Pathway when taken alongside AAQs in Human Biology and Mental Health: Individuals and Society. Alternatively it may be taken with two other A Level (or equivalent) courses.
Entry Requirements
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language.
How You Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed through a range of external exams and internal assessments.
Course Progression
This qualification is designed to support progression to Higher Education and careers in the health and care sector. You could continue your studies with us through City College Norwich Higher Education where we offer university-level courses in
a wide range of subjects including Health Studies, Mental Health Practice and Childhood and Youth Studies.
Where Your Course Can Take You
You could consider roles such as Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Paramedic Science, Occupational Therapy, Health and Social Care, Healthcare Science, Public Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Fees
